The Y International Program is designed for Americans and Internationals living in the New River Valley. The program provides an opportunity to meet Americans and learn about life in the community. All religions and nationalities are welcome; the program has no religious affiliation. All Y International Programs are free of charge.

Mornings
2nd and 4th Wednesday of the Month
9:30 – 11:30AM
Luther Memorial Church
(Corner of Tom’s Creek and Prices Fork Road)
 
Meets weekly to bring Internationals and Americans together for friendship, information, education, support, and service. 

All are
welcome! Free childcare on site.

Program Schedule June, July and August

June

10        To be announced. 
 
24       Cheery Pies and July 4th.  We will prepare the Fourth of July classic, Cherry Pie and discuss the holiday traditions.
 
July
 
8          Games and Trivia. We will play games with one another. If you have a favorite board game, bring it to share. If it is nice we will go outside.
 
22        Pandapas Pond Trip. Meet at Luther Memorial Church at 10AM. We will depart for a morning at the Pond. We will return around 12:30PM.
      

August
 

12        Painting and Drawing. We will be joined by a local artist who will demonstrate basic art techniques. Participants will have the opportunity to practice the skills they observe.

25       Welcome Celebration. We will join in a welcome celebration with old friends and new faces.

 English Conversation Classes

These weekly classes are for Internationals who want to learn English or improve their English language skills. Besides having conversations on diverse topics, simple writing tasks, pronunciation and grammar will also be taught.

Children are welcome! Child care provided.
