New Dance Class Pass!
This semester, Open University is mixing things up with regards to dance and movement classes. Instead of signing up for one specific dance class, you will now have the opportunity to apply your pass towards a class or a series of classes of your choosing that also fits your schedule. The pass comes in two flavors – a 6 stamp pass and a 12 stamp pass. Purchase a pass and pick it up from the YMCA Admin Offices. Once you have your pass, just bring it to any dance class. The instructor will initial your pass, then you’re good to go. Enjoy the premium flexibility and variety of the new Open U Dance Class Pass!
Occasionally, we must cancel classes due to insufficient enrollment, weather, etc. If a class is canceled the day it is scheduled to start, you will be notified by email or telephone. Please provide your most current phone number and email address. If a class is canceled, you will have the option of receiving a full refund.
If you cannot attend a class, please let us know by phone or email at least 3 business days prior to the first class meeting to receive a full refund or credit. Late withdrawals can lead to last minute cancellations of classes or keep students on the waiting list from being able to join, so we appreciate your cooperation concerning this. A student who withdraws fewer than 3 days prior to the first class meeting will receive a refund of the registration fees less $15.
The YMCA will make a decision on the status of a class by 3pm if the weather is questionable. If a class needs to be canceled, Y staff will attempt to contact students. When in doubt, students are encouraged to call the YMCA at 540-961-9622 or check vtymca.org for an update.
Some classes require you to bring supplies and others will provide supplies. Please make sure you understand what is required and contact us with any questions.
Who May Enroll
Most classes are designed for adults unless otherwise noted. For younger students interested in taking a class, please call the YMCA at 540-961-9622 or send us an email and we’ll check with the instructor. Parents may be required to attend class with their child.
