The YMCA at Virginia Tech brought back our annual 50/50 raffle this year after a hiatus for the past few years. Tickets went on sale on March 17 and were available through May 17 at 4pm.
YMCA Board Treasurer Jim Lawrence tumbled the 50/50 Raffle tickets and drew the winner at 5:02pm on May 17, 2022. The winning ticket belongs to Steve Herndon of Orange VA who won $3,812.50!
Herndon was delighted to win and said “It’s always a pleasure to support local missions. Your (the YMCA at VT) work is very important to the community”.
The YMCA at VT brought back the popular 50/50 Raffle as a fun way to raise money for its various community based service programs. 50/50 Raffles have a wide appeal because it feels like everyone wins. The person with the winning ticket wins a prize and the YMCA at VT receives a matching amount of money. We call that a win/win!!
Thanks to everyone who participated helping the Y@VT to raise a matching $3.812.50 for our community programs.
