The YMCA provides after school care from 3pm-5:30pm at the Middle School in Community Room #1, Monday-Friday during the school semester.
WHEN: After school from 3:00pm-5:30pm, five days a week!
WHERE: A community room on the BMS campus, with physical activity outside
COST:
- $10 per day for each student, $50 a week.
- Half-session option for students who participate in after-school sports & activities.

DURING THE PROGRAM, STUDENTS WILL:
• Enjoy a healthy snack and some unwind time
• Partake in physical activity
• Engage in academic discussion and homework time
Our Virginia Tech Student Volunteers WILL:
• Provide academic tutoring and enrichment activities as well as physical activities
• Become mentors to your student by coaching students through their academic materials, promoting a healthy lifestyles and strengthening social connections
• Be supervised and supported with a Y Staff member to create a safe and fun environment for all students
If schools close early or do not open for inclement weather or other reasons, the Y Afterschool program will also close. The program is NOT open on Teacher Workdays.
Please note that the program takes place onsite at Blacksburg Middle School and no transportation is provided. All children must be picked up by parent or appointed guardian.

La YMCA ofrece cuidado después de la escuela desde 3-5:30pm en la Escuela Secundaria en el Salón Comunitario #2 de BMS, los lunes-viernes durante el semestre de escuela.
DURANTE EL PROGRAMA, LOS ESTUDIANTES VAN A:
– Disfrutar de una merienda y algún tiempo para relajarse
– Participar en actividad física
– Estudiantes de Virginia Tech (mentores) proveerán horas de tutoría académica y actividades de enriquecimiento, además de actividades físicas
– Estudiantes de Virginia Tech (mentores) son voluntarios por la YMCA y serán supervisados por un empleado de la Y
– Estudiantes de Virginia Tech (mentores) están comprometidos a ayudar a su estudiante a entender sus materiales académicos; también promoverán un estilo de vida saludable
El programa tendrá lugar en los días de salida temprana con horas modificadas. Si se cierran las escuelas temprano o si no abren debido al tiempo inclemente u otras razones, el Programa Y Extraescolar cerrará también.
Por favor, note que el programa tendrá lugar en el sitio de la Escuela Secundaria de Blacksburg y no se ofrecerá transportación. Todos los niños deben ser recogidos por un padre o un tutor designado.
