YMCA Elementary After School Program
Financial Assistance
The Y is able to accept Virginia DSS assistance aimed at helping parents afford childcare.
Students on a free or reduced lunch plan often have a very high likelihood of qualifying for assistance.
The Y may also provide some scholarship support to ensure everyone has a chance at affordable childcare.
Safe, affordable, engaging
YMCA afterschool programs are centered on providing an affordable, safe, and engaging afterschool environment for working families.
Our programs consist of three key elements:
Healthy snack and meal
Homework assistance/tutoring
Interactive games and activities
VT Student Leaders
Under guidance of YMCA staff, Virginia Tech students (mentors) will provide academic tutoring and enrichment activities.
VT students are committed to helping your child understand their academic materials while promoting a healthy lifestyle.

All YMCA afterschool programs will be licensed by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE).
VDOE requires the following documents for program enrollment:
YMCA Registration Form
A copy of your child's immunization report
A copy of your child's physical examination report
Show proof of age and identity (such as a birth certificate)
